Opening hours
The recreational and social activities program at Gerðuberg is open all weekdays from 8:30am to 4pm, except on Fridays when it closes at 3:30pm.
To participate in social activities, you don't need to apply - just show up on site.
Program
There is a variety of activities like morning gatherings and coffee chats, visual arts, patchwork sewing, knitting circles, bookbinding, dancing, mindfulness, gymnastics, and outdoor activities. We also regularly offer classes and event such as bingo, waffle coffees, musical performances, and excursions. The swimming gymnastics takes place at Breiðholt's swimming pool, which also has a mini golf course.
Free access is provided during certain times to open spaces for games and meetings. The facility is also lent for various classes, group and club activities, depending on arrangements. Those participating in social activities have access to a computer and the latest newspapers are usually available.

About the social activities
The goal of the City's social activities is to prevent and reduce social isolation by offering open and sustainable leisure activities. Social activities serves as a platform for community, human interactions, and creative pursuits. There's an emphasis on encouraging individual initiative to ensure as many people as possible can find suitable activities. Everyone, regardless of age, is welcome.
