Are You Normal?
Here, an exciting project is offered where adolescents get the opportunity to reflect on society's narrow framing of what it means to be normal. The project involves video education and culminates with a photo exhibit of the participants' work in a beautiful space at the Children's Culture Festival.
About the project
What is it to be normal? Who decides that? Are fat people not sexy? Can old people make out? Are gay men always feminine? Are mental illnesses terrible? Should people with disabilities be pitied?
The project is intended for students in 8th to 10th grade. Each workplace has the freedom to implement it in their own way in close consultation with its supervisor. The project is modelled after a Swedish template where it's called Normstorm.
