Grants from the West Nordic Capital Fund 2024

The board of the West Nordic Capital Fund for Nuuk, Reykjavík and Tórshavn met on June 3 to review this year's applications.

The three cities received 24 applications this year. The board approved 19 of them. The board evaluated whether the projects' content and scope aligned with the fund's rules.

  • Nuuk received five applications, with three approved.
  • Tórshavn received eleven applications, with ten receiving support.
  • Reykjavík received eight applications, with six projects receiving support.

The projects that received support from Reykjavík were:

  • Þjóðbúningafélag Ísland – Trip to the Faroe Islands to learn about Faroese culture and national costume traditions
  • Diddú og drengirnir – Concert tour to the Faroe Islands
  • Kirkjukór Guðríðarkirkju – Trip to Tórshavn to foster connections between churches and choirs
  • Ingi Bjarni Trio – Concerts in Reykjavík and Tórshavn
  • North Atlantic Islands Dance Network – Dance workshops in Tórshavn and Stavanger
  • Vox feminae women’s choir – Concert series in Iceland and the Faroe Islands
