Fast charging station on busy route
A plot for an electric car charging station is marked at Vesturlandsvegur on the Grjótháls 2 lot. Reykjavík City is now seeking an operator through a building rights tender.
The plan calls for 15 charging spots open to the public for all car types. Only CCS-2 connectors are required. The lot must have a tidy finish with vegetation to the north and east. The stopping point must have tables and benches. Vending machines and minor windbreaks are allowed. Good lighting is needed, especially at charging stations and the stopping point.
All operator signs and ads must be on the charging equipment. No billboards or other signs are allowed. No development is planned except for Veitur equipment or charging equipment. The operator will design waiting areas on the lot. Regular parking spots are not allowed.
