Applications for summer activities administered by the City of Reykjavík should be submitted through the summer recreation application website. Note that an electronic ID or IceKey is required to register.
Registration opens:

Registration for after-school programs, special youth center activities, and sailing courses must be completed by 12pm on Friday for a child to start the following Monday. Parents are advised to register their children early as there are limited openings available.
The opening hours for after-school programs and special youth centers during the summer are 8:30am–4:30pm. Children enrolled in the respective primary school have priority at the after-school program operating in conjunction with the school.
If parents are of foreign origin, have legal residence in Reykjavík (one or both parents), and the child has lived in Iceland for less than one year, they are eligible for three weeks of summer activities at after-school programs and youth centers without charge upon application. This discount does not apply to children who have legal residence abroad and come to Iceland temporarily during the summer months. Note that this only applies if there are openings available during the week applied for and children must also be registered on the summer recreation application website.
