Applications open for second round of youth climate fund grants
Climate change Environment
The second round of applications for the youth climate fund is now open. Ten diverse projects have already secured grants from the fund. Projects range from educational events and trips to public transport competitions and hackathons to experiments in preventing soil erosion.
The fund aims to engage young people aged 15-24 in finding solutions to climate issues and support new projects that combat climate change. The total amount available for distribution is 1,900,000 króna. The maximum grant amount is 690,000 króna.
Grant conditions require projects to be designed and carried out by young people aged 15-24 and directly relate to Reykjavík's climate policy. Organizations, groups, student associations and schools can all apply for grants.
Application deadline is September 12, with allocations to be made by September 30. The fund is a joint project of Reykjavík City and Bloomberg Philanthropies.
