About the nursery

The nursery oversees the growing of flowers and trees for city land and outdoor recreation areas.

The Nursery focuses on preserving Icelandic plant varieties and cultivars and increasing the number of plants that are well-adapted to Icelandic conditions. New species and cultivars are also tested to increase diversity and improve the material grown in the city's gardens and outdoor areas.
