Counseling school
Sólborg is the preschool that has specialized in meeting the needs of children who are deaf or hearing impaired. The National Hearing and Speech Institute of Iceland introduces this counseling to parents when a child's hearing impairment is detected. Counseling is provided according to the price list, 16,000 kr., with an additional fee for municipal staff using their private cars.
Aim of the counseling
Our aim is to provide preschool staff with guidance on hearing loss, including what should be considered in the children's environment, educational and instructional emphases, and primarily looking at social position and inclusion in preschool activities. The counseling process is tailored to individual needs and the counselor either visits or provides phone consultations to the child's preschool.
