City Center Fund

The role of the City Center Fund is to ensure that the city center remains an interesting and appealing place for residents and other city stakeholders, the people of Iceland, and foreign guests alike. The goal of the City Center Fund is to encourage diversity in the city center and promoting it as a residential area, as well as a center for commerce, services, daily life, culture, and administration.

The application deadline for the City Center Fund has passed

We will be accepting new applications in the fall of 2024.

Before you apply for support, we urge you to familiarize yourself with the City Center Fund's allocation rules as well as Reykjavík City's rules on grants

Applications will only be considered if they are received within the specific deadline and they meet the requirements set by municipal rules. When assessing applications, the policies for city center affairs and Reykjavík City's Human Rights Policy are taken into account. Past events and projects are not supported.

The City Executive Council approves grants from the City Center Fund, and project managers for city center affairs process the applications. Grants from the Fund are processed after the grant agreements have been signed and on presentation of the budget for the project for which the grant is given. The grants are disbursed in accordance with the Fund's allocation rules.
