About SmíRey
SmíRey is a carpentry workshop for autistic people, creating toys and presents. The manufacturing process is split into nine different workstations, with each toy-maker assigned to the station that best suits them.
Work hours are distributed based on work endurance, ranging from one hour per week to one hour per day. Each toy-maker operates independently, free from interference from others. The only requirement for our toy-makers is to have their trusted mentor from their residential unit with them.
This mentor assists them with all their needs, helping them in the creation process and in interacting with the tools and space at the workshop. The work takes place at a relaxed pace, catering to individual speeds. Lastly, a rest break is taken in the SmíRey café, a special coffee shop located next to the carpentry workshop.
