Reykjavik Parking Service parking meters take coins and all major types of credit cards. The meters have card readers that read microprocessors and contactless card readers.
Payment can be made via the parking meters before the payment period begins. Only the payment period counts so you can pay for several days at a time. This may, for example, be good in P3 where the first 2 hours are the most expensive.
Payment in P1 is valid in P1, P2, P3, and P4.
Payment in P2 is valid in P2, P3, and P4.
Payment in P3 is only valid in P3.
Payment in P4 is only valid in P4.

Place the credit card next to the wireless reader or into the card reader.
Confirm that the correct amount is on the screen before you pay. Then you choose whether or not to print a ticket.
