Hi! The English site is only a beta for now and still has many errors (especially in names and locations).
We are working hard to fix them and making more content available than ever before so expect constant updates.
In screen visits, video calls take place between a home care worker and residents, offering a variety of services. Users receive a tablet while receiving the service. All residents receiving home care can have screen visits instead of or alongside traditional in-person visits. The project has been under development since 2020 and we aim for full implementation in early 2023.
Screen visits allow the City of Reykjavík to offer enhanced and diverse services for different groups of people. The goal of screen visits is to tailor services to the needs of each individual, with increased participation and user empowerment as guiding principles. Users receive the support they need, when they need it. Screen visits can ensure service provision in unpredictable situations, such as due to bad weather or pandemics.
User consultation ensures that this new service delivery model will be implemented according to the needs of home care users. Performance measures show that users are satisfied with the service, feel secure, and find the technology easy to use.
