Summer Program Assistant Fund

Reykjavík City's Summer Program Assistant Fund supports sports and youth organizations throughout the city.

Sports and youth organizations in Reykjavík can apply to Reykjavík City's Summer Program Assistant Fund for grants to cover salaries for staff ages 17-25 working on summer courses.

This program aligns with Reykjavík City's prevention policy for children, youth and their parents, Reykjavík's sports policy through 2030, and policy making for youth ages 16 and older.

The fund's goals are:

  • To increase summer job opportunities for youth ages 17-25 in Reykjavík
  • Supporting recreation courses for children ages 6-12 over the summer

Who can apply?

Sports and youth organizations based in Reykjavík. Organizations must offer programs for children ages 6-12 during daytime hours when primary schools are closed for summer break.

Hitt Húsið processes grant applications and manages communication with applicants on behalf of Reykjavík City.

Please note that the application period runs from Jan. 6 through Jan. 30, 2026.
