The first stage of the international competition for Keldnaland's development, which ended April 19, received 36 proposals for a new sustainable urban neighborhood at Keldur. The jury is now evaluating proposals and will select up to five to be developed further in the second stage. Reykjavík City and Transport for the Capital Area are jointly organizing the competition.
Next steps
The jury's results on proposals advancing to the second stage will be announced May 11. The second stage ends with proposal submissions on August 18. The final result on the winning team is expected in September.
Planning based on the most interesting idea
The competition seeks a team with an interesting and realistic idea for a new dense, diverse and carbon-neutral neighborhood, well-connected within the city and capital area. Further planning will be based on the most interesting idea after the competition ends.
The competition is anonymous. The teams behind the 36 proposals won't be revealed until final results are announced in September.
