Performance by Hitt Húsið art groups

The Human Rights & Violence Prevention Council of Reykjavík City will hold an open meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, December 10, for International Human Rights Day. The meeting will discuss issues affecting young people in Reykjavík.

Presentations will cover youth welfare and environment. There will also be a presentation on an anonymous live chat for people under 20 of all genders.

The meeting is from 11:30am to 1pm in Tjarnarsalur, Reykjavík City Hall.

11:30am Opening remarks

11:40am Icelandic Youth Study – What do children and young people say?

Ragný Þóra Guðjohnsen, Academic Director of ÍÆ and Associate Professor, University of Iceland School of Education

Discusses the Icelandic Youth Study results on young people's views on factors affecting their prosperity.

11:55am The Fleet mobile youth center – Challenges and responses

Kári Sigurðsson, Prevention Project Manager, Department of Education & Youth

The Fleet is a mobile youth center that operates in neighborhoods outside regular youth center hours. The purpose is to support protective factors and minimize risk factors for young people.

12:10pm Sick Love

Drífa Snædal, Spokesperson for Stígamót

Sick Love is an anonymous chat for youth to discuss concerns about relationships, communication or violence. The chat is for youth under 20 of all genders.

12:25pm Discussion

All are welcome as space allows.
