Registration for Music Experiments is in full swing - last day today

Music Experiments 2024

The countdown is on to one of the year's most exciting music events, the Music Experiments, taking place at Harpa from March 10-16. Participant registration is open on the website www.musiktilraunir.is/en, concluding today, February 19

Since their inception in 1982, the Music Experiments have been a cornerstone of the Icelandic music scene. There, young musicians aged 13-25 have the chance to showcase their talent at Harpa in the best possible conditions in front of a live audience.

The festival has been and remains a launching pad for young musicians, offering them a chance to perform under great conditions, meet other musicians, and compete for prestigious rewards that could aid their musical journey.

Music Experiments are true trials where garage bands, improvisers, music school bands, or solo geniuses take the stage, tune their strings, and belt out their tunes.

Bands are often specifically formed to participate in the competition, introducing brilliant bands like Of Monsters and Men, Vök, or RetRobot featuring Daði Frey for the first time.

Girls have been successful over the last two years, with Kusk emerging as the winner in 2022 and the girls in Fókus taking home the victory the year before.

It will be exciting to see, experience, and follow who will claim the title of Music Experiments winner this year.

With much at stake, musicians aged 13-25 should hurry to register now, with the registration remaining open until February 19.
