Five proposals advance in Keldnaland competition

Keldur is a beautiful, green area and the focus will be on utilizing and considering the natural qualities of the area.
Houses, grassland, and trees.

Five proposals were selected to advance in the international competition for Keldnaland's development. The competition jury met in Reykjavík May 8-10 and reviewed 36 proposals submitted in the first stage. Reykjavík City and Transport for the Capital Area are organizing the competition.

After evaluation, the jury invited the top five teams to further develop their proposals for Keldnaland. These teams will receive 50,000 euros to present an interesting and realistic idea for a new dense, diverse and carbon-neutral neighborhood, well-connected within the city and capital area. The second stage ends August 18, 2023.

Results in September

The competition is anonymous. The teams behind the proposals won't be revealed until final results are announced in September. Further planning will be based on the most interesting idea after the competition ends.
