Dear World - Children's Cultural Festival Song 2023
We proudly present the song of the Children's Culture Festival 2023 Dear World.
All 4th graders in Reykjavík primary schools were given the task of answering questions about peace, from the inner peace of each individual to world peace. Vigdís Hafliðadóttir and Ragnhildur Veigarsdóttir, members of the band Flott, wrote a song and the text is based on the children's answers about peace and is their call for world peace. The title of the song comes from the students of Engjaskóli who wrote a letter to the world with this title.
The Children's Culture Festival song has been written in collaboration between musicians and students in the 4th grade of elementary school since 2015. Among the musicians who have contributed to the project are Salka Sól, Reykjavíkurdætur, Jón Jónsson, Daði Freyr, Bríet and JóiPé and Króli.
The Children's Culture Festival will be held from the 18th to the 23rd. next April. The venue of the festival is the whole city and there will be a variety of events for children and their families. Admission to all events is free.
