Architects from FOJAB will present their winning proposal for Keldnaland on Wednesday, September 25 at 5pm at Reykjavík City Library in Spöngin. The library is hosting an exhibition of the proposal, "Crafting Keldur," which received the highest score in an international competition for Keldnaland's development, organized by the City and Transport for the Capital Area.
FOJAB is one of Sweden's leading architectural firms, known for its progressive approach to urban development and sustainable design. Founded in 1971, the firm has grown to a group of about 150 specialists with operations in Malmö, Stockholm, Gothenburg and Helsingborg.
Magdalena Hedman, landscape architect LAR/MSA, leads the Keldnaland project for FOJAB and is also head of urban development at the firm. Other team members are Joanna Attvall, architect SAR/MSA and environmental quality manager, Åsa Samuelsson, architect SAR/MSA and head of FOJABlab, and Josephine Philipsen, landscape architect.
Keldnaland will be a dense, diverse and green urban district that benefits from its proximity to nature, good public transport and emphasis on diverse travel modes. CityLine will run through the area, offering residents more options with increased quality of life and good services. Residents should be able to live sustainable and healthy daily lives with eco-friendly transportation, green spaces, neighborhood gardens and squares. The goal is a vibrant urban environment.
Keldnaland is being developed in collaboration between the City and Transport for the Capital Area.
Everyone is warmly welcome to attend the lecture on Wednesday! Please note that the lecture will be in English. We also note that the exhibition is open until October 17 during the library's regular hours.
