Walkable city on the Consultation Portal
A draft policy and action plan for a walkable city are now available on Reykjavík City's Consultation Portal. The City Council submitted the proposals to the portal so Reykjavík residents and other stakeholders can review the policy and share their comments.
Reykjavík's first walkable city policy establishes a clear vision for a city where pedestrians come first in everyday transportation. The goal is to build an urban environment where walking is a safe, accessible, and appealing choice for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or neighborhood.
Suggestions may be submitted through April 27th To help streamline the review process, anyone submitting suggestions about specific provisions is asked to reference the relevant section of the draft policy and, where appropriate, propose specific wording additions or changes.
