Exhibit about Keldnaland at Borgartún
The same exhibit from the open house in Keldur last week is now on display at the Reykjavík service center in Borgartún. Visitors can learn about the planning and development of Keldnaland and view a three-dimensional model of the proposed neighborhood.
The exhibit coincides with the city's presentation of the draft framework section of the municipal plan for Keldur and surrounding areas. Residents and other stakeholders can review the proposal along with the Keldnaland development plan and other supporting documents that are available in print on-site. To help people learn about the project, two new videos are available that explain the proposal's overall vision for the neighborhood. These videos can also be viewed on-site.
Keldnaland will be a dense, diverse and green urban district that benefits from its proximity to nature, good public transport and emphasis on diverse travel modes. CityLine will run through the area, offering residents more options with increased quality of life and good services. The development is designed to allow residents to live a sustainable and healthy lifestyle with green areas, neighborhood gardens and squares, creating a vibrant urban environment. Keldnaland is being developed in collaboration between the City and Transport for the Capital Area.
The planning proposal and supporting documents are available on the Urban Planning Portal where interested parties can submit comments and suggestions until Sept. 10, 2025. The exhibit will remain open throughout the public comment period. Everyone is welcome!
