The Holt neighborhood festival, Klambrafest, spring and summer festivals, First Day of Summer programming, races, windbreaks, outdoor markets, murals and craft workshops for seniors are among the many projects receiving allocations from Reykjavík's District Fund this round.

Reykjavík's District Fund supports local organizations, residents and others who want to contribute by organizing neighborhood-related projects and events. This can include neighborhood festivals, Christmas celebrations or other holiday events, summer activities and other types of resident collaboration projects.

Funding awarded twice yearly

The District Fund aims to strengthen community bonds, solidarity and cooperation among residents, enhance neighborhood beautification, improve safety and enrich daily life in various ways based on residents' needs. Priority is given to projects that benefit the widest range of neighborhood residents, encourage participation from diverse groups in community activities, or focus on beautification and development of areas used by a significant portion of residents.

The application deadline for this round was April 15. Funding is awarded twice a year and applications are always advertised on the City's website and social media.

Many interesting applications were received this round with great variety. The above projects were approved by the City Executive Council yesterday. We thank everyone who wants to participate in bringing joy and life to our city and neighborhoods.
