Are grandma and grandpa coming to visit? Have you shoveled your steps? Make sure guests arriving with Christmas gifts have a safe path to your door. Reykjavík City provides residents with free salt and sand for deicing to keep their surroundings safe.

Salt and sand can be picked up during the opening hours of the municipal land service center in Stórhöfði. We also have bins with salt and sand accessible outside the district depots at Fiskislóð and Jafnasel.
