Muggur is a fund managed by the Council for Culture and Tourism, the Icelandic Association of Visual Artists and Myndstefs.

The Foundation's role is to support visual artists for temporary stays abroad as a result of an exhibition, workshop or other similar art project.

Who is the Fund for?

In order to receive an allocation from the Mug's Accommodation Fund, the applicant must be a full and unencumbered member of the telephone network and provide the required documentation confirming the invitation to participate in an art event or the allocation of an art work placement. Cash is not provided for stays in workshops when full subsidies are included in the allocation.

The Foundation's role is to support visual artists for temporary stays abroad as a result of an exhibition, workshop or other similar art project. In this way, the fund is intended to promote visual arts activities in Reykjavik and to strengthen the image of the City of Reykjavik as an avant-garde cultural city on the world stage. The creation of the fund is part of making the CoR a platform for international art streams.
