Information about data extraction
LUKR data is stored in the ISN93 coordinate system. It's based on Lambert conformal conic projection with two standard parallels, at 64° 15' and 65° 45'. The extraction system also offers to project data into the Reykjavík coordinate system, which may slightly increase processing time. Current data extraction format is for delivery in shape (.shp) and dxf (.dxf) formats.
Usage license
Users may copy digital LUKR data to local storage and produce derived digital data or products from LUKR data. This data may only be used by the user or their employees. Providing copies to or granting access for third parties to digital LUKR data and/or derived digital data/products is prohibited, except with a special agreement with the Geospatial Information division at Reykjavík's Department of Environment & Planning.
However, users are permitted to sell and distribute paper products derived from digital LUKR data for which data fees have been paid. This is permitted on the condition that all such derived products acknowledge LUKR's publishing and copyrights. Additionally, the Geospatial Information division must be notified of any such publishing activities. The extraction agreement does not entitle users to receive new, updated, and corrected versions of LUKR datasets.
Data condition
All data is delivered from LUKR datasets "as-is" at the time of delivery. Data quality varies by source, both in terms of accuracy and reliability. It is important to seek confirmation from the relevant institution regarding the accuracy of individual data elements before using them as the basis for development.
Geospatial Information at Reykjavík's Department of Environment & Planning is not responsible for direct or indirect damages that users may suffer due to use of LUKR data or data derived from it.
Basic data from neighboring municipalities
Basic information from Reykjavík's neighboring municipalities is stored in LUKR and delivered with permission from the relevant municipalities, which own the data. General terms for LUKR data also apply to this information. Data on Reykjavík Energy and Míla ehf. utility lines in these municipalities belongs to LUKR datasets, as these companies are parties to LUKR.
Please note that LUKR cannot determine the accuracy, update frequency and classification of this basic information. Users are therefore advised to contact the relevant municipality directly for information about the data, particularly if its accuracy, update frequency, or classification is critical for their intended use.
