Dept. of Welfare research licenses

The Department of Welfare strongly supports participation in the research community. It values research results that increase knowledge and advance welfare services. An important part of research is giving service users the opportunity to express their opinions.

Research requirements

  • Research projects range from master's theses to larger-scale studies.
  • Research must comply with the Personal Data Protection and Processing Act No. 90/2018.
  • The research manager obtains permission from the Data Protection Authority if required
  • The research manager obtains permission from the National Bioethics Committee if required

Processing research permit requests:

All research requests require special approval. Formal permission is needed. Submit a completed application to the Department of Welfare office for consideration. A team at the Department of Welfare reviews all research requests.

The team is composed of a counseling services specialist, the team leader, a specialist from the performance and quality assessment team, and the Department of Welfare's privacy attorney.
