Apply to Reykjavík Public Health for an operating permit before starting operations. Requirements for issuing a permit include the business complying with planning regulations and the premises being approved by the Building Commissioner for the intended activity.

The public health authority processes applications according to procedure. The application is submitted to a Permit Review Meeting for approval. After the meeting, the applicant is notified of the decision. If approved, an invoice is sent to their online bank. Permit Review Meetings are usually held weekly on Tuesdays.
