Description:
Three of the City's largest workplaces are represented on the working group for Reykjavík Science City, which is located in the Vatnsmýri area. We have already started working together to promote the area as an attractive location for investments, new companies and foreign specialists. An existing working group also addresses transportation and infrastructure projects in the area. Each of these organizations has considerable expertise and ambitious sustainability goals. They have numerous ways to influence their staff, as well as students and patients who visit the area daily.
Here are some examples of actions that individual parties in the group will implement:
- Parking fees (in more locations)
- Travel behavior survey
- Green infrastructure, including for biking or electric vehicle charging
- Information campaigns to encourage environmentally friendly travel modes
