Many companies have already set up operations at Esjumelar, providing various services. Large companies include Gámafélagið and Malbikstöðin.
Development and facility creation for new companies is in preparation or already underway, as seen when visiting the area. There has been movement in lot sales. The City now offers building rights for sale on lots at Bronsslétta. Street works there are complete and the lots are ready for handover.
