Operating permit proposal - Hjallastefnan at Bústaðavegur 9

Reykjavík Public Health has prepared a proposal for a temporary operating permit for Hjallastefnan ehf. at Bústaðavegur 9 for its new operations. The facility will operate as a primary school. The proposal recommends that standardized operating permit requirements for primary schools apply to this facility. The proposed permit would remain valid until December 31, 2026, aligning with an exemption granted by the Ministry of the Environment, Energy, and Climate from provisions in Article 29 of Regulation No. 903/2024 on Hygiene, as detailed in the case documentation. The exemption specifies that the operating permit would be subject to two conditions: 1. the number of children must not exceed 15 in the building at any time, and 2. food service is not permitted on the premises. During this period, the public is invited to submit comments and feedback on the draft permit.
