Traffic shift on Breiðholtsbraut
Notice to drivers on Breiðholtsbraut! Tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 31, traffic on Breiðholtsbraut will move from the southbound lanes to the northbound lanes between Jaðarsel and Vatnsendahvarf. The rerouting will take place from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
This change is needed for construction of a new bridge over Breiðholtsbraut. The formwork on the north side of the bridge has been removed, and crews will now begin removing it from the south side.
The work zone is tight, with crews and equipment positioned close to active traffic lanes. Authorities urge motorists to obey all posted signs and speed limits and to exercise extreme caution in the work zone.
