Reykjavík School of Work on track for record enrollment
Enrollment in the Reykjavík School of Work has already reached 3,300 as of May 8, a record for this point in the year. Staff are currently placing students into groups based on age and place of residence.
General gardening groups will be available in all city neighborhoods, with summer work divided into three sessions beginning June 11.
Students in grades 8, 9, and 10 can work on a wide range of assignments in Reykjavík, mostly involving gardening and maintenance. The School of Work's primary mission is to provide students with meaningful summer employment and education in a safe work environment.
Hiring for instructors and other staff is also being finalized, with approximately 90 positions to be filled.
Parents register their children for municipal youth jobs using an electronic enrollment form for the School of Work. We encourage all children of School of Work age to work with the City this summer.
