The Big Plogging Day takes place this Sunday, April 26, and Reykjavík City is joining residents in the effort. We encourage residents to team up and clear litter from their local surroundings. Reykjavík City staff will collect bags by vehicle — use the Suggestion Portal to report their locations.

A fun community initiative

The Big Plogging Day has been an annual tradition since 2018, drawing participation from homeowners' associations and various community groups. The goal is to beautify the environment, reduce litter in nature, and highlight how small actions by many people add up to a major difference. Rotary Iceland spearheads the event, uniting people of all ages in a positive, accessible environmental effort.

Thank you for plogging!
