Applications are now open for Reykjavík City's Summer Program Assistant Fund. The fund supports sports and youth organizations in the city by subsidizing the wages of staff ages 17-25 who work at summer courses.

This program aligns with Reykjavík City's prevention policy for children, youth and their parents, Reykjavík's sports policy through 2030, and policy making for youth ages 16 and older.

The fund's goals are:

  • To increase summer job opportunities for youth ages 17-25 in Reykjavík
  • To support the provision of recreation courses during the summer for children ages 6-12.

Who can apply?

Sports and youth organizations based in Reykjavík. Organizations must offer programs for children ages 6-12 during daytime hours when primary schools are closed for summer break.

Hitt Húsið manages grant applications and communication with applicants on behalf of Reykjavík City. The application deadline is Jan. 30.
