Two primary school projects earn quality awards

Awards presented for the Boat Games at the Icelandic Center for Research.

Representatives from two Reykjavík schools received eTwinning quality awards when the Icelandic Center for Research and Erasmus+ National Office presented innovation awards and honors in October.

International cooperation and creative learning

These quality awards recognize well-executed projects that show professionalism, initiative, and effective use of eTwinning for international collaboration and creative learning. Award recipients included teachers Hjalti Sigurbjörnsson and Guðbjörg Bjarnadóttir from Ingunnarskóli for their excellent Boat Games 25 project, and Rósa Harðardóttir from Selásskóli, who received recognition for participating in the same project. The project brings together Ingunnarskóli, Selásskóli, and Vesturbæjarskóli with many other European schools and takes place every spring.

Creating chain reaction videos

Sandra Grettisdóttir, a teacher at Selásskóli, was also honored for The European Chain Reaction project, an annual event at the school. The project centers on a competition to create a chain reaction video, with the project being entirely student-led.

Tröllaskagi junior college and Dósaverksmiðjan received the European Awards for Teaching and Languages, and Stapaskóli received recognition for eTwinning Project of the Year 2025. More information about the awards and honors is available on the Icelandic Center for Research website.
