Reykjavík City Housing Development Map Viewer – Digital Tool of the Year
This interactive map viewer provides easy access to information about residential housing development in the city. The map viewer displays the location and status of housing projects by construction phase and district.
The map viewer provides a clear overview of more than 26,000 homes that are under construction, in approved development plans, or in development areas throughout the city. By enabling searches by construction phase and district, the map viewer gives residents and other stakeholders valuable insight into Reykjavík's housing future.
The map viewer was developed through close collaboration between the Office of the Mayor and Chief Executive Officer (SBB), the Department of Service & Innovation (ÞON), Reykjavík City Geographic Information System (LUKR), and numerous other specialists. The project has been in continuous development with the goal of improving functionality, user experience and information sharing.
