Grants - visual storytelling of Reykjavík's history - applications open

Call for grant applications for visual storytelling of Reykjavík's history
Are you working on a book, a film, a TV series, a website, or any other kind of project related to the history of Reykjavík and plan to use images from the Reykjavík Museum of Photography in your project? Then you can apply for a grant from Reykjavík City to offset the purchase cost. The grant is a discount on the cost of publishing images.f
Authors, publishers and others planning image-rich publications in 2025 or early 2026 about Reykjavík's history can apply for this grant. The grant is provided as credit for purchasing images for publication from the Reykjavík Museum of Photography, either partially or in full.
The goal of the grant is to support the robust communication of Reykjavík's cultural heritage and history. A panel, composed of three Reykjavík City specialists from the Department of Culture & Sports, reviews applications and makes recommendations to the Culture, Sports & Leisure Council.
The application deadline is Wednesday, May 22, 2025.
Applications for the image publication grant must include information about the applicant and a description of the planned publication. They should also include a price estimate from the Reykjavík Museum of Photography for the planned image purchases that carry publication fees according to the museum's fee schedule. Applications should be submitted through the Reykjavík City online portal.
