Diverse and popular summer workshops for teachers
Háteigsskóli was buzzing with energy as summer workshops for teachers in Reykjavík primary schools took place Aug. 11-13. Turnout for the summer workshops was excellent, with around 800 registrations for the courses, and participants developed a great sense of camaraderie.
Opportunity to deepen professional knowledge and boost job satisfaction
The courses brought together new teachers and more experienced educators with the goal of learning about key education policies and trends while deepening their educational expertise. The primary school summer workshops offer participants a valuable opportunity to connect with colleagues, strengthen their professional skills and build enthusiasm for the upcoming school year.
36 diverse courses offered
The program featured 36 workshops that covered a broad spectrum of teaching methods, creativity, technological innovation and social issues. Teachers could learn about using games in teaching, filmmaking, artificial intelligence, and methods to support students with ADHD or diverse language backgrounds. Additional courses covered safety in swimming instruction, creative mathematics, children's mental health, responses to racism, hate speech and much more.

The summer workshops are part of Reykjavík City's focused strategy to enhance the professional skills and well-being of school staff, and create opportunities for innovation and collaboration between schools.
