75 million króna in grants for school and recreational activities
Reykjavík's School & Recreation Council has approved grant distributions from Section B – Autonomous Entities of the council's development and innovation fund for the 2025-2026 school year. Twelve projects received grants totaling 75 million króna. The projects reflect diverse priorities in education, recreational activities and community participation for children and young people.
The grants are awarded according to fund guidelines under the theme "Let Dreams Come True" and aim to support innovation and development in school and recreational activities in Reykjavík.
The projects that received grants are:
- Music practice in three preschools
Partners: Klambrar, Stakkaborg, Nóaborg, University of Iceland School of Education and Education Innovation Center
Grant: 8 million króna
- Wellness paths in schools
Partners: Rimaskóli, Austurbæjarskóli, University of Iceland School of Education, Center for Education and School Service and East Center
Grant: 6 million króna
- HugSmiðja (Think Tank) – Thinking school community
Partners: Grandaskóli, Rimaskóli, Laugarnesskóli, West Center, Undraland after-school program, Mixtúra, University of Iceland Continuing Education and University of Iceland School of Education
Grant: 8 million króna
- Systematic internal assessment
Partners: Primary schools under South Center, North Center and West Center

- Drama, dance and creativity in Miðborg
