Reykjavík City has expanded its winter maintenance services compared to previous years, focusing primarily on improving service on residential streets, increasing monitoring, and deploying more equipment. Crews actively monitor conditions, providing around-the-clock oversight throughout the winter.
Reykjavík City aims to provide efficient, cost-effective winter maintenance services—including deicing and snow removal on streets, walking paths, and biking paths—to ensure the safety of residents and the general public.
Reykjavík City has access to 51 pieces of equipment for winter street maintenance and 23 for path snow removal.
For this winter, the city has reviewed a communications plan to improve how it informs residents about winter maintenance progress and road conditions. We will post updates on winter maintenance services on the Reykjavík City website.
