Snowfall

Reykjavík experienced significant snowfall on Boxing Day. The city received a uniform 20-25 centimeters of snow. Snow clearing went smoothly, keeping both streets and paths clear. Crews began clearing residential streets yesterday evening, completing most of the work this morning, Dec. 27.

Snowbank removal resumed early this morning, and the final clearing of residential streets will be completed today. Crews will continue working as traffic subsides to remove any remaining buildups.

Drivers are urged to remain cautious and drive according to conditions, as crews are salting all main routes, streets, and paths.
