Assessment and amendment slips for property rates in Reykjavík 2022
Assessment and amendment notices are not mailed out due to an amendment made to Act No. 4/1995 that went into effect on January 1, 2019, allowing municipalities to deliver assessments for property tax electronically.
Reykjavík City's Department of Finance & Risk Management handles the assessment and collection of property tax, land rent and garbage collection fees.
Property rates for 2022 over 25,000 kr. are to be paid in 11 equal installments on the following due dates: Jan. 30, March 2, April 2, May 2, June 1, July 3, Aug. 2, Sept. 3, Oct. 2, Nov. 1 and Dec. 4
The due date for property rates under 25,000 kr. is Jan. 30.
Property rates will be collected via online banking, where payment slips can also be printed. Payment slips will not be mailed automatically, but residents may request a mailed copy on My Pages at www.reykjavik.is or through the Reykjavík City service center at 411 1111.
