About Mouna

Mouna is a pharmacist with experience in social work, both as a volunteer and a paid employee with nonprofit organizations.

She has worked with the Red Cross as a nutritionist in Syria with pregnant women and children from 6 months to 5 years old. She also worked as a trainer in the Netherlands with Save The Children TeamUp methodology to support refugee children. She is currently working at the pharmacy at Landspítali Hospital.

Thanks to personal life experience in the Middle East, South America, and Europe, Mouna has developed communication skills in Arabic, Spanish, English, and Dutch. Language is the easiest way to communicate as a person and her experience supports her passion for women's rights. She wants women's voices to be heard more clearly and for them to have more opportunities to support each other.

About W.O.M.E.N. in Iceland

The Women of Multicultural Ethnicity Network in Iceland was established on October 24, 2003.

The organization aims to unify, address, and give voice to the interests and concerns of women who have settled in Iceland. Its goal is to promote equality and ensure equal status for women of foreign origin in all areas of national life. This website provides information about the network, its issues, and projects. We also post news and announcements about events related to immigration, women's issues, and family matters. The network is overseen by a annually elected board, which serves for one year at a time. Membership in the network is open to all women of foreign origin living in Iceland.
