Dietary supplements and incorporated foods

Dietary supplements are defined as foods according to Law no. 93/1995 on Foodstuffs, as amended, and Regulation No. 624/2004 on food supplements, as amended.

There is talk of incorporation when nutrients and other ingredients are additionally added to foods during their production. These may include (though not exclusively) vitamins, minerals, trace elements, amino acids, essential fatty acids, fibre, and many plant and herbal extracts.
