Shiftwork
Effective May 1, 2021, the workweek for full-time shift workers will decrease from 40 hours to 36 hours. Additional reductions down to 32 hours are possible, depending on required duty hours.
What are Better Working Hours?
Compensation for shift workers will be restructured to better reflect the demands of shift work. The shift premium system will expand to include more categories, and workers will receive a special incentive payment based on the number and diversity of shifts worked. Since many shift workers are part-time employees, these changes aim to create opportunities for them to increase their working hours and lifetime earnings.
Information on changes to the working hours for shift workers can be found in the annex of the trade unions that negotiated such changes.
