Proposed operating permit - USK, Office of Development and Maintenance - waste reception for recycling in landfills and temporary material storage at Úlfarsfell

Reykjavík Public Health has drafted a temporary operating permit for Reykjavík City's Department of Environment & Planning, Office of Development and Maintenance for waste reception for recycling in landfills and temporary material storage. This is a new operation. The proposal suggests that the operation be subject to the Public Health Committee of Reykjavík's general operating permit conditions for polluting activities and specific conditions for Reykjavík City's Department of Environment & Planning, Office of Development and Maintenance for waste reception for reuse in landfills within the cemetery area at Úlfarsfell. The proposed validity period is until December 31, 2028. Documents related to the proposal are accessible on the Reykjavík Public Health website https://reykjavik.is/public-announcement-of-proposed-operating-permits from January 9 to February 07, 2025. During this period, everyone is welcome to submit comments and suggestions regarding the proposal.
