Reykjavík Public Health has drafted an operating permit proposal for East Center, the service center for Árbær, Norðlingaholt, Grafarvogur, Grafarholt, Grafarvogur, Úlfarsdalur, and Kjalarnes, for a Twelfth Night bonfire and fireworks display on January 6, 2024, at the burn site near Gufunesbær. This concerns a small bonfire. The proposal recommends that the activity be subject to Reykjavík Public Health Committee's general operating conditions for polluting activities, coordinated permit conditions for bonfires, and guidelines for New Year's Eve bonfires. The proposed validity period is January 6, 2024, from 4pm to 9pm.
