2022 City Council Elections—Voter Turnout
On election day, updated polling figures will appear here for the 2022 city council election compared to voter turnout in 2018 and 2014. Figures are updated every hour.
Note that due to changed requirements for voter eligibility after the new Voting Act came into effect on January 1, 2022, the number of voters on the electoral roll has increased by approximately 10,000 compared to the 2018 city council election. This may affect the voter turnout. The change means that all Nordic citizens who have reached the age of 18 and are legally resident in Iceland are now on the electoral roll, as well as other foreign citizens who have reached the age of 18 and have been legally resident in Iceland for three consecutive years before election day.
