Every week, the Public Health Authority of Reykjavík collects drinking water samples from various locations in the Veitur Utilities distribution network in Reykjavík. Typically, two samples are taken weekly, but the number of samples may increase under special circumstances. Annually, samples are taken from the water protection area and distribution system for comprehensive diagnosis of chemical and physical properties.
Drinking water must meet the requirements of Regulation No. 536/2001 on Drinking Water, as later amended.
