Twenty-one graduate as preschool teachers

Since October of last year, twenty-one staff members at Reykjavík's preschools have earned their preschool teacher credentials, a significant achievement for early childhood education across the city. To honor the occasion, staff from the Preschool Affairs office within the Department of Education & Youth hosted a reception in June.

A major milestone for early childhood education

This achievement is vital both for the teachers and for early childhood education across the city, where qualified professionals are key to delivering quality care and learning. These newly credentialed preschool teachers work at 17 preschools throughout the city.

Graduates receive a symbolic birch seedling

During the ceremony, program directors presented each teacher with a birch seedling. The seedling serves as a symbolic reminder to nurture growth and development, whether in plants or in children. This gift carries a heartfelt wish that the new preschool teachers will thrive in their work and grow just like the trees they plant. Reykjavík City wishes them continued prosperity as they carry out their vital role.
